U.S. Congressman Bill Keating to be Grand Marshal for 2017 Seaside Le Mans
U.S. Congressman Bill Keating will be the Grand Marshal for the 17th Annual Seaside Le Mans-The Race for the Cape Cod Community, as over 10,000 spectators are expected to return to Mashpee Commons on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Opening ceremonies will kick off at 11:30 a.m., followed immediately by the 4-hour endurance race and awards presentation. In addition to comments from Congressman Keating, the patriotic opening ceremony will feature an honor guard, a flyover and live music from the Cape Conservatory Jazz Band.

Nantucket Chamber announces new Executive Director
The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce announces the hiring of its new Executive Director, David Martin, who will assume the leadership role on October 2. Martin, a native of Western Pennsylvania, started his career in corporate and community event planning and also spent several years in the cruise industry as a Cruise Director with Holland-America Line, a division of Carnival Corp. His non-profit career began as Executive Director, followed by the role of Regional Chief Development Officer with the Arthritis Foundation based in Washington, D.C.

The Cape Cod Five was the recipient of the Abacus Award at Calmer Choice's Annual Celebration held at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on August 22. In addition to the well deserved recognition of its' Instructors, an award for going Above & Beyond was bestowed on Chairman David Troutman for his years of dedicated service to the organization.
