A Light Unto My Path
A Video From Pastor Kevin Murriel
What Would Jesus Do?
Dear Cascade Family and Friends,

As we began our new sermon series, "What would Jesus do?," I pray that you felt liberated to begin wrestling with the things in your life that cause you the most negative stress. Like Jesus, we must always recognize the reality of stress in moments where we are called to make tough decisions and also through every other challenge in life.

What did Jesus do in his most stressful moment in the Garden of Gethsemane?
1. He carefully selected his spiritual inner circle
2. He prayed through his sorrow
3. He walked into his hour of destiny

Be encouraged knowing that you serve a God who knows how you feel and is willing and able to guide you through stressful times as you walk into your season of greatness.

Stay the Course,

Pastor Murriel

Be The Light:
#PrayForHouston
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request. With this mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."
~ Ephesians 6:18

How can we, the body of Christ, help in the midst of a crisis? This Crosswalk.com article uses the story of Luke 5, where Jesus heals a paralyzed man to remind us of the importance of lending a helping hand. Now more than ever, it's important for us to join together and not only pray individually and collectively but to also show-up and extend love through donations, rescue efforts, continued awareness, and opening our homes. Read more on the story of Luke 5, and how we can help the city of Houston amid the flood waters here.

What About Tithing?
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over new wine"
~ Proverbs 3: 9-10

Did you know that our website  is full of helpful information about the United Methodist Church? Tithing is a valued part of Christian life, purposed to teach us to "put God first in our lives." Tithing allows us to do so much more collectively than we ever could individually.

Learn more about "Why We Tithe" and "How We Tithe" in this special section of our website

Give from your heart -- give what you can. Trust in the Lord, He is a God of increase!
