Buddhist art: Where India and China meet
Jinah Kim, SAI faculty grant recipient, recently visited an exhibition in Beijing featuring Indian art. "The exhibition reminds us of the age old connections between the two countries, notably activated and solidified through the transmission of Buddhism."
Exploring  women's economic and social rights
On Dec. 22, SAI hosted a workshop in New Delhi in collaboration with Tata Trusts on women's rights, with Dr. Ela Bhatt, Founder of SEWA, delivering the keynote address. The event was a culmination of the 18-month project on Livelihood Creation.
Gender and globalization: The Bangladesh garment industry
A recent working paper by Fauzia Ahmed, SAI Research Affiliate, explores the framework of gender, governance, and labor, at all levels of the global value chain: workers; factory owners; buyers; and consumers. It is based on a pilot study conducted  in the aftermath of the 2013 Rana Plaza disaster.
