Ripley's Believe It or Not!
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce is attempting to break records during an upcoming ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, January 24 at the Frisco Heritage Center, 6321 Page Street, in Frisco TX at 9:30 AM.

This ribbon cutting will be in the 2017 edition of Ripley's Believe It or Not! for the largest ribbon cutting in Texas. The entire community is invited to this free event to participate in the making of history. Attendees should arrive at 8:45 AM to begin lining up around the buildings within the Frisco Heritage Center. Participants should bring a pair of scissors and will be able to take home a piece of history.

The Frisco Heritage Center is a living village comprised of buildings representing the area's rich history. Facilities include the original Lebanon Church, the restored Crozier/Sickles House, the Smith-Muse House and a replica of The Frisco Railway Depot.

We are also hoping to make world history and be placed in the Guinness World Records for the most scissors used simultaneously in a single ribbon cutting," said Kathy Erickson, Director of Partner Relations at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. Read more..
FISD Students Can Earn Associates Degree
An expanded partnership with Collin College will give Frisco ISD students the opportunity to earn an associate degree at the same time as their high school diploma.

FISD will add numerous dual credit course offerings over the next four years, providing students with even more options for academic success.

"This is a huge step forward for student opportunity in Frisco ISD," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeremy Lyon. "The District already offers many rigorous courses to prepare students for college and career. This growing partnership with Collin College enhances our current offerings and gives students even more ability to customize their schedules to meet their long-term goals." Read more...
