Art, Healing & Meditation Space on Inauguration Day: Friday, January 20, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. UUCF opens our doors to provide space for reflection and healing including indoor labyrinth walking meditation, quiet space for meditation, Reiki and other therapies, sign-making for the Women's March (January 21), art activities including coloring books, knitting, etc. If you would like to donate your skills (artistic, therapeutic, etc.) for the day, please contact the Office at  office@frederickuu.org.

Women's March: Frederick's Sister March, January 21 at 1 1:00 a.m.: Held at Center of town, the intersection of Market & Patrick. We embrace the inclusive, nonpartisan message of peace and unity expressed by the Women's March. Like hundreds of other Sister Marches that are springing up all over the world, a small team of organizers is planning ours very quickly, info at  womensmarch.com/sisters. UUCF Coffee House: Saturday, January 21, 7:00 p.m. This open mic night is now a monthly event from January to June, on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Share your talents with an appreciative crowd. Performers can do two pieces (around 6 - 8 minutes total) and maybe more, if there is time. Sign up in person no later than 7:15 p.m.  As always, BYOB. Chalice Community Openings: Are you seeking deeper connections with other members and friends of UUCF? Interested in exploring spiritual topics, meaningful conversation and sharing your insights? Please consider joining one of UUCF's Chalice Communities, our Small Group Ministry program. Openings are available in the following groups: Wednesday or Thursday mornings, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoon (after the second service). Circle of Life Cooperative Preschool: Exclusive Open House for friends/members of UUCF on Friday, January 28th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Enrollment is open for friends/members NOW. Enrollment opens to the Public on February 1st.

The Pussyhat Project: THANK YOU to everyone, members as well as friends, including our own Sip 'n Stitch group, the 'Beans in the Belfry' Tuesday knitting group and Patricia Cronin for all the hats! UU Legislative Ministry-Maryland Annual Meeting: Legislative Kickoff 2017 and Workshop: Saturday, January 28 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. UULM-MD Annual Meeting: 1:30-4:00 p. m. UUSJ Advocacy Corps: Help make the UU liberal voice heard on Capitol Hill! UUSJ invites UUs interested in making regular visits to Members of Congress and their staff to join UUSJ on priority issues of immigration, climate change and the environment, along with the escalating income inequality, among other UU issues. The UU liberal religious voice is critical to be heard, especially in light of concerns that progress made in these areas will be turned back.
