Pivot Physical Therapy's 100+ site VoIP Migration - We're converting 4 sites a day!
Based in Towson, MD, Pivot Physical Therapy is a provider of sports medicine services, physical, occupational and aquatic therapies with over 100 locations.   The company's growth strategy is to acquire compatible therapy businesses, and rebrand them for integration into its growing network. At each location, IT infrastructure, computers and phones are standardized for ease of deployment, management, and to simplify troubleshooting.

DataLink was selected to upgrade Pivot's entire communications network and all Voice services to VoIP.  Pivot's locations span the region from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. At each site, along with deploying pre-programmed desktop phones, we also install new wiring as needed, or migrate existing wiring to a PoE network switch. Each local switch is connected to a server in Pivot's offsite data center, enabling centralized management and convenient 4-digit extension dialing among all Pivot sites.

We've been activating 4 sites per day. With 80 sites completed and roughly 400 VoIP phones deployed, we're on track to have all Pivot sites interconnected and VoIP-equipped by the end of the month.

We're very pleased Bryan Simms, Pivot's IT Manager is happy, "Everything about DataLink has been exceptional... Their professionalism, attention to detail, and their unrelenting pace in rolling out VoIP... It doesn't get any better."

If outdated communications are slowing you down, DataLink has advanced VoIP solutions that Make Voice and IT Easy.

SMBs are set to embrace more technology in 2017 despite ROI questions
A recent report from CompTIA indicates that SMBs are ready to spend big on technology this year, even when it's not clear whether their business goals are being met after implementation.

Of 600 businesses surveyed, only 16% believe they are getting an excellent return on their tech investments. While 44% claim good ROI, another 40% characterized their results as "just okay" or "disappointing."

Why such mixed results? Get the CompTIA report here

The report, The Business Relevance of IT in the SMB Market, suggests that part of the problem with ROI may be unrealistic expectations. SMBs may not have a clear vision and strategy for how various technologies form a solution or solve a business problem.

Nevertheless, CompTIA predicts more technology spending, as SMBs seek to boost their IT security, data management, and modernization efforts. Against this backdrop, it's still important that ROI be improved.

DataLink President & CEO Mylon Staton believes SMBs can achieve better ROI results by selecting a technology partner who can strategize with them and consult from a business perspective.  "It's very important that they understand why they are investing in technology and what to expect on return."

C-Level Decision Makers getting the message on Ransomware
Writing in Chief Executive, John Farley notes the rising cost of Ransomware. Regardless of how big or small your business, the numbers should get your attention, with industry estimates soaring to $1 billion extorted from U.S. businesses in 2016.

But that's not the end of the story... Farley explains that hackers may be rummaging around a lot of sensitive data before encrypting it. "They could have been selling the data for months before and just locked down the data on their way out. When an organization pays the ransom, their problems may be far from over."

DataLink helps businesses of every size mitigate the effects of ransomware. Protect your business from downtime and loss of data.

Network Upgrades emerge as Top Priority when adopting Cloud Computing
As organizations race to adopt cloud technologies there is concern that they are not taking a methodical approach to updating their network infrastructures.

In a recent issue of TechTarget, Amy Larsen DeCarlo writes about the rapid growth in hybrid clouds, where workloads are moved between and among multiple clouds, including on-premises facilities.

DeCarlo notes that networks must be optimized to support hybrid cloud traffic or they can impede performance and introduce instability. "Adding bandwidth is only one consideration," DeCarlo explains, "IT also needs to consider how design elements and execution strategies may help or hinder efforts to get the maximum benefit of working with the cloud."

Network infrastructure issues slowing your business down?  DataLink is ready to get you back up to speed.
