FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Akiba Family,
 
We've all opened our hearts to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Now it's time to open our doors. Akiba is ready, willing and able to welcome students and their families from Jewish day schools in Houston. As these needs arise, we will continue to work in a coordinated effort with day school leadership and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.
 
How we're helping:
  • Our students have registered to volunteer sorting donations at the Jewish Family Service Food Pantry.
  • We're collecting gift cards from Target, Wal-Mart and Amazon that can be used for diapers, baby formula, groceries, clothing and other necessities. 
  • All tzedakah given at school this fall will go directly to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

Come and see what happens in your children's classrooms, meet their teachers, hear about our Responsive Classroom approach, and see what a day in their lives is like!

Wednesday, Aug. 30
For parents of students in grades  1-8. 
Lower School begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Lower School building; check in at 6:15 p.m.  Middle School begins at 7:20 p.m. in Pollman Hall; check in at 7:10 p.m.

Parking at Yavneh will be available in addition to parking at Akiba.

Sign up  here to help serve hot lunch! This can be a one-time thing or ongoing. We love grandparent servers, too!

Uniform Swap
The uniform swap set up in the hallway in front of Pollman Hall ends today. Come donate or swap! We just ask that you leave one for everything you take, or if you are new to the school, that you donate to the uniform swap in the future.
