Sam Fels, editor and proprietor of Faxes from Uncle Dale (formerly The Committed Indian), an alternative print Blackhawks gameday program and blog, talks about growing up as a Blackhawks fan and how he parlayed his passion into the alternative fan's program and website. His book, Madison St. Station, chronicles his love (and sometimes hate) for one of hockey's most storied franchises and will be available for purchase and signing.  Reserve your spot.

Join other Star Wars fans excited for the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, opening in theaters December 15. Draw and build your own lightsabers, make plot predictions, take photos against a themed backdrop, and view Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For grades 9-12.  Reserve your spot.

Used Book Gift Sale
Through December 23
Give the gift of books! Purchase previously-loved books through Saturday, December 23 during the annual Used Book Gift Sale in the lobby. Make your holiday preparations easier by selecting pre-wrapped book bundles to give to loved ones. Prices vary.  The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and all sales benefit the library.
3D Ornament Sale
Twenty-five local kids and adults put their maker skills to use in a 3D Design Competition and created original ornaments celebrating the library's 110th anniversary. All designs were printed and library staff voted for their favorite ornament. The top three favorite ornaments are available to purchase for $5 each at the library. Don't miss this unique keepsake; only a limited number of ornaments will be printed. Proceeds will benefit the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation.

Free Family Holiday Movie: Arthur Christmas

Stop by the Glen Ellyn Art Theater to enjoy the family holiday movie, Arthur Christmas.  When the unthinkable happens and Santa misses one child out of bill ions, someone has to save the day. It's up to Arthur, Santa's youngest son, to deliver a present to the forgotten child before Christmas morning dawns Admission is free.
