Please join us this Sunday for Advent Two - PEACE! Traditional Worship at 9:30 and/or Informal Worship at 11:00am Our annual Lessons & Carols service will take place at 9:30am with a variety of scripture, choral pieces, carols and more. Our Informal Service will focus on
Isaiah 40:1-11 (Comfort, comfort my people...) and Matthew 1:18-25 (The angel comes to Joseph, inviting him to partner with Mary and the Holy Spirit) with a sermon entitled Seeing and Being Peace. Returning to God will bring us peace and allow peace to be the focus. Peace can be contagious. Peace can be our center.

Adult Education
9:30am &11:00am |Heritage Room
This Sunday,  December 10: We have a history of social action and social justice in our UCC! We have an amazing opportunity to put love into action again in our time, joining with dozens of other congregations and organizations on two non-partisan efforts -- the CLEAN Missouri and RAISE UP Missouri Campaigns!

These grassroots, state-wide ballot initiatives are an opportunity for Missourians to claim their voice. CLEAN will establish campaign contribution limits for state candidates, limit lobbyist donations, and put a stop to gerrymandering - all critical steps toward a healthier democracy here in Missouri. Every social justice issue is at stake with CLEAN: it is the fundamental policy change needed to move forward on every issue from women's and LGBTQ rights to racial equity and economic justice.

RAISE UP Missouri will raise the state minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2023, allowing the many Missouri families who are working and yet still living in poverty a break from the toxic stress of living paycheck to paycheck. These are non-partisan efforts - instead of coming from politicians, everyday Missourians are leading these campaigns to give voters a chance to decide for themselves in November 2018. However, we can't make these much-needed changes without YOU! We need congregation members to join in the effort and help collect signatures to get these on the ballot. If you are interested in learning more, please join us for Adult Education on Sunday, December 10th at 9:30am or 11am in the Heritage Room to get more information from Annie Girresch, Eden Seminary student working with Metropolitan Congregations United - mcustlouis.org

Covenant:
Grounded in God's commandment to love our neighbors and the desire of Jesus "that they may all be one," St. Mark United Church of Christ Arnold, MO publicly affirms the commitment we have long strived to put into practice: to welcome and nurture everyone who comes through our doors as beloved children of God without exception.
Echoing the good news that God's house has room to spare as well as the call for believers to be one body with many members, we seek to journey together as people of different races, ethnicities, nationalities, cultures, faith backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, political orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, marital statuses, family structures, ages, physical / mental abilities and health statuses, personal histories, and many other characteristics. Each person is a vital part of our community with a set of unique gifts and perspectives, and we invite all to fully share in the worship, rites, sacraments, and ministry of this church. We recognize that there are differences among us, but believe that we can love alike even though we may not think alike. Regardless of our beliefs or experiences, we seek to treat all people with love.
As a forgiven people, we acknowledge that we are all still growing together and do not claim to be perfect or to have "figured it all out". With God's help, we covenant to learn together as a community grounded in hospitality, compassion, justice, liberation, forgiveness, and Christian love.
Spread the good news!
