The Reverend William S. Musselman passed from this life to new life with God. Bill was a faithful Episcopal priest of more than 60 years in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. His deep compassion and wisdom were a gift to all who knew him. He will be missed, but has left a remarkable legacy of ministry, love for family, and commitment to the community.
Fr. Bill was a graduate of Norristown High School in 1947; Gettysburg College in 1951; and the Philadelphia Theological Seminary in 1954. He was ordained as an Episcopal priest on December 11, 1954. He served as Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania for 32 years until his retirement. During his ministry, he served in many leadership roles in the Diocese, including President of the Standing Committee. Fr. Bill's ministry of warmth and care were generously shared with Church of the Holy Spirit in his retirement and he helped to create the culture of Christ-like hospitality that characterizes this church community.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Janet Schultz Musselman, and his brother, Ray S. Musselman. Fr. Bill is survived by his son, James (Terre) Musselman; his daughters, Cheri (George) Ackley, and Janet M. Musselman; his seven grandchildren; and his nine great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service and celebration of his life was held on Saturday, January 7, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Harleysville. His burial will be private.
