Ten Days to a New Home

Whirlpool / IU Kelley / Habitat Blitz Build 2017

The 8th Whirlpool/Kelley/Habitat Blitz Build will take place from October 3 - October 14. This one-week build is sponsored by the Whirlpool Corporation with support from the Kelley School of Business.

Whirlpool has been a huge Habitat supporter for many years, donating a range and fridge to every Habitat home in North America since 1999 and sponsoring more than 175 homes, totaling more than $101 million. The cost of the materials and land for this years' Blitz Build are wholly sponsored by Whirlpool.

All are welcome to join the 400 volunteers from Indiana University for this blitz build. Contact [email protected] to volunteer. And mark your calendars for the dedication ceremony on October 14, at 9:30am, prior to the Indiana University / University of Michigan football game.

More Than Just a Breakfast

Join Us for Our Annual More Than Houses Breakfast!

Our More Than Houses Breakfast is Habitat's most important gathering to share our mission and future plans with prospective and current supporters. The event also raises the bulk of Habitat's annual operating budget. Plus, you'll hear about our affiliate's upcoming 30th anniversary!

The MTH Breakfast will be on Thursday, November 9th at 7:30 am at the Monroe County Convention Center. If you've attended in the past, consider welcoming friends to this important annual event by serving as a Table Captain! ReStore Happenings

ReStoring Hope in TWO New Homes

Congratulations to ReStore for sponsoring two Habitat homes this past fiscal year! Thanks to the many ReStore volunteers, shoppers, community partners and staff for making the Diaz and Borjas Garcia families' builds a success.

We Need You! ReStore is looking for donation intake volunteers as well as product specialists to test, price, research and organize tools, housewares, appliances and lighting. Sign up for a volunteer shift HERE !

Investing in Themselves

The Jones Cole Family

Both Kindra Jones and Dwayne Cole worked full time, but were paying 46 percent of their income for housing. Looking towards a better future, they committed to investing in themselves and connected with Habitat. Today, along with their three children, they are grateful future Habitat home owners. Each Habitat build culminates with a dedication ceremony, where keys to the new home are presented to the new home owners.
