WALKING ON THE WILD SIDE IN 2017
Turtles, tarantulas and toddlers, oh my! Hundreds of walkers, both of the two-legged and four-legged variety, turned out on Sunday for the 8th Annual Walk on the Wild Side 5K event. Walkers raised nearly $3,000 for the Seabrook Intermediate School Living Materials Center (LMC).  As is tradition, Merton the Tortoise signals the start to the walk around Taylor Lake Park where the trail is lined with exotic animals from the LMC and interesting facts about the center's more than 60 species of critters.  Originally organized by two Seabrook Intermediate students, the leadership baton of this year's event was passed on to WAVE and League City Intermediate student, Hunter Locke, with the help of his mother and Clear Lake High School teacher, Sheryl Locke, along with many other volunteers.
