Saturday's FREE Winery (& Antietam) Ride!
Come Saturday and enjoy a weekend of cycling!

Plan to arrive in Shepherdstown on Saturday and explore Antietam National Park and a nearby winery! If you are in Shepherdstown on Saturday, there will be two informal rides through the greater Antietam area including the Antietam National Battlefield and Antietam Creek Vineyards. We'll offer a shorter ride around 20 miles and a longer one around 35 miles. Come and explore the roads and some of the Civil War heritage of Southern Washington County.

The short route will begin and end at the Antietam Creek Vinyards, while the long route will begin and end at a separate location to ease parking. Both routes will feature Nutter's Ice Cream as a rest stop. The long route will also have the Winery as a stop. We will have historical interpreters on hand at the winery to elevate our experience! And no worries about carrying any purchased bottles back with you - the Vineyard will deliver any purchases into Shepherdstown Saturday evening.

Click here for more information on Saturday options.

This isn't just a bike ride - it's a weekend event!
Want the Saturday Party Buffet?
You MUST Register for It!

We will be offering a wholesome buffet-style dinner Saturday evening for $15.
But you must register for it by Sept. 1!  Click here for details and to register!

Our friends at the  Town Run Tap House and Community Pub  are hosting us from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16. We will have live music by   Wayne Snow and that buffet-style dinner.  The Town Run also sports an arcade room with pinball machines and video games, as well as a full bar with local beers and ciders. And of course, it is a great way to relax before the ride and to meet other riders.

If you prefer to dine at one of Shepherdstown's other fine restaurants, come by afterwards for some music and company (no cover charge). But if you want the buffet, be sure to register!

We Noticed! We noticed that your response to our 2017 BRC jersey design was less than overwhelming.
So, we took a quick break from putting the final touches on the Back Roads Century Weekend and worked up a new design we think you will like better.

The Jersey design features the some of the visual highlights of the BRC: bright colors reflecting the sun coming up over the Shenandoah Valley, images of the hills, rivers, and fields that mark the route, apple orchards, and the old school tower in downtown Shepherdstown.

Unfortunately, this redesign means that jersey's will not be available for the day of the ride.  We will be taking order through September 25 and jerseys will be mailed to your home in early November.

(If you already ordered a jersey check your email for a message from us about choosing between a new jersey or a refund.)

Volunteers Needed!
  • We still need volunteers for Sunday, especially to manage the rest stops. Volunteers get FREE registration and will have enough time to ride one of the shorter routes. Email Eric Pilsk with "Volunteer BRC" in the subject line if interested.
