Carbon credits for Dubai landfill earn money from Norway
Dubai Municipality's Al Ghusais landfill has become the first such facility in the region to trade the carbon credits it earned after generating electricity by flaring the methane gas produced by waste combustion. T he facility, run by Green Energy Solutions and Sustainability for the Waste Management Department of the civic body, received a cheque worth Dh354,240 for selling the carbon points.

For Every $1 Spent on Clean Energy R&D, Other Sectors Would See $1.60       
A new analysis by The Pew Charitable Trusts and its research partner, ICF International Inc., shows that the expected $5.8 billion investment by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in Mission Innovation research and development (R&D) activities for fiscal year 2017 could add $8.6 billion to the nation's gross domestic product (GDP); $5.6 billion in wages and benefits across the economy; and $1.3 billion and $540 million, respectively, to federal and state and local tax revenue in the first year.
