SNHBA GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS UPDATE

The association's government affairs department is working on many issues of importance to its members, the industry and homebuyers.

ZONING, DENSITY AND SEWER SERVICE
The Las Vegas City Council and the Clark County Commission recently took steps to adopt an interlocal agreement to impose new zoning and density requirements in areas in the northwest valley. Also, the agreement provides for delivery of sewer service to areas outside city limits for fees and rates that do not exceed those paid by city developers and residents. Click here to read the agreement, and click here to view the new map that outlines annexable and non-annexable parcels, as well as new density restrictions. There will be no new commercial development allowed in the area. Work on this issue continues in January.

FLOOR RECEPTACLE AMENDMENT
The association submitted to local jurisdictions in December a request to amend floor receptacle outlets. Click here to read the request. The jurisdictions had no objection to the amendment, as submitted, as an alternate method, pending full approval in several weeks. Click here for the drawing.

SNHBA LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
