January 2017
New Year, New Identity in Christ
by Dawn Livingston

"...It might be because New Year’s is approaching and I’m hearing about resolutions, but I’ve been reflecting on how sorting through the stuff in my life – the treasures and the not-so-treasured-anymore – is something that shouldn’t just be done with the physical items, but rather with my emotional baggage too. Think about it.

How often do we carry around burdens or heartache or grudges for so long that we maybe aren’t sure why we’re keeping that feeling anymore anyway? Something that was once held onto is now not-so-needed-anymore.

Maybe it’s something that someone did to you that was really hurtful or horrible, or maybe even something that wasn’t that big but you’ve held onto it. You’ve carried it around, maybe even for years, taking it with you wherever you go. Maybe it’s time to unpack it and purge it..."

Getting Married in 2017?

Weddings at Hinton Center are exceptional. The Center offers unique options for making the special day a complete success.

Perched high on a hill with sweeping views of Lake Chatuge and the surrounding mountains, Dysart Chapel is a favorite site for weddings. The chapel seats up to 100 guests, and is a perfect year-round option. Hinton Center’s Labyrinth is a fabulous fair weather wedding venue. Surrounded by God’s beauty in a woodland setting, the labyrinth has a simple elegance that transforms the ceremony into a profoundly sacred experience.

Receptions are held in our Moore Great Hall, Dining Hall, or Young Commons Building. We offer full catering services, and our Executive Chef will help plan the menu from start to finish.

NEW: Coming Spring 2017, our new Outdoor Pavilion/Worship Center will be available for ceremonies and receptions!

We have comfortable lodging options for your family and friends who are in town to share your celebration. Call today at (828) 389-8336 or email info@hintoncenter.org to get started planning your ideal wedding. We can assist you with outside vendors for flowers, decoration rentals, and music. Ask about our pastry chef’s wedding cake creations.
