CCAE Update, September 2017

Greetings Everyone!

As we move into the fall and the new school year, CCAE is excited to share an online professional development opportunity with all CCAE members. CCAE has purchased a state association license for members to access the COABE 2017 Virtual Conference scheduled for October 25-26, 2017. There is NO COST to CCAE members to "attend" the virtual conference on either day, AND members will be able to access the recorded workshop sessions up to six months after the event. To register for this unique professional development opportunity, follow these simple steps ( HERE). This complimentary registration includes full access on October 25th and 26th to all sessions, keynote speakers, presenter interviews, networking, and more! Additionally, you will have access to these presentations for up to 6 months after the event.

Also in the area of professional development, please note that the 2018 CCAE state conference registration, call for presenters, and hotel reservation information are live on the CCAE website https://www.ccaestate.org/2018-ccae-state-conference. The committee is busy making plans to ensure that the conference will be a great success! The conference will be held from May 3rd to May 5th at the Doubletree by Hilton Fresno Convention Center. Please consider sharing your expertise with colleagues around the state by submitting a workshop proposal via the call for presenters form online. Teachers, classified staff, and administrators are encouraged to submit proposals.

Besides the advocacy plan ( HERE) that CCAE's legislative and budget advocate, Dawn Koepke, has laid out for our work here in California, I hope you have also noticed that our national affiliate, COABE, has embarked on a national advocacy campaign entitled "Educate and Elevate" focusing on our legislators in Washington D.C.
