Grade Parents,
Although we are just halfway through the school year, we are already actively planning for next year. Your child will choose a language for 5
th
- 8
th
grade, and that language will become a key part of their overall DPM experience. We are incredibly proud of our four World Language offerings: French, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish.
This year, your child has studied Spanish three times a week. You have the option of continuing in Spanish or moving into French, Latin or Mandarin.
The number of sections of each language will be driven by demand so we are asking families to make a first and a second language choice. We will do our best to honor everyone's first choice, but if we do not have enough students for a section, we'll move to second choices.
On Wednesday, January 18th, the fourth graders at all three schools had the opportunity to be introduced to all four languages through a
video
and question and answer session with several World Language teachers from Deer Path Middle School.
We are asking that you make your selection using the
electronic form
no later than
Friday, January 27th.
If you choose not to respond, your child will be placed in a language based on availability
; our goal is to maintain all four languages. We truly believe all of our languages will provide rich and valuable learning.
