Olive Oil Ministry Update
The Outreach Committee of St. John's Church partnered with the Olive Oil Ministry, a consortium of religious groups in the DC metropolitan area headquartered at Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ. In November of 2016, members of the committee hosted an olive oil tasting and sold bottles of olive oil which were distributed in December. The purpose of the sales is to help stabilize the Palestinian economy, support the quality of life of farming families, encourage sustainable agricultural practices, and to support the Tent of Nations' international peace center on a farm near Bethlehem. St. John's was responsible for selling 117 bottles for a total of $2380. Thanks to all who helped to make the project a success.
