John Lewis 
pulled off a huge election upset...he didn't have a chance.
However I was pulling for him all the way because I saw John in action- authentically caring for the common man- when I was President of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. The black and white power structure backed his opponent Julian Bond. After the upset victory I went to see Congressman Lewis and told him how I had prayed daily through the entire  election process...I also offered to pray for him in our weekly small black and white Bible studies I started with Jerry and Phil . I also started an annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast in downtown Atlanta that drew 800-1,200 including a 2 tiered head table of black and white political and business leaders...John Lewis was always in attendance. After our initial meeting John and I never got together again, but I continued to greatly respect his authentic caring for common people, despite differing with him on various local and national issues because I am a conservative.
He was my hero....because 

it was definitely a "David and Goliath" story lived out before our very eyes.

M Y   H O P E :




President Elect Donald Trump and I have never met in person... but I was drawn to him when on a couple occasions during the election process I heard him try to articulate his faith in God in various interviews.
My friend Dennis strongly encouraged me to try to contact Donald Trump and help him with his testimony

Besides a one page handwritten letter that included my brief testimony of an atheist accepting Jesus as my Savior , I also sent him two of my books THE MASTER'S TOUCH (a golf and life comparison) and IF WE ARE THE LIGHT, WHY IS AMERICA SO DARK? (insights into effective witnessing)...

I offered to help him more effectively communicate his faith in Christ...His personal assistant in Trump Tower wrote to me and assured me my books were in his personal library in Trump Tower.

MY STRONG APPEAL TO MY HERO AND MY HOPE

 TO MY HERO: 

Congressman Lewis...take President Elect Trump up on his pledge to improve the living conditions for all people...start by showing respect for the office and be in attendance on Friday...go back to the days when you were a doer not a politician...jobs for all are at stake 

TO MY HOPE: 

President Elect Trump...focus on the big issues and let someone else defend your policies and person...stop tweeting except on major concerns...trust and delegate to your quality people you have appointed and make overtures immediately to focus on jobs with Congressman Lewis...you are so capable, don't get sidetracked
