This month the students participated in a basketball unit. During this unit, students worked on dribbling, passing, shooting, and lay-ups. The week before break the students will be participating in a variety of fun-filled games. When we return from break, the students will be starting a gymnastics unit. Please leave all jewelry at home during this unit, and girls that have long hair, we would appreciate it if they pulled their hair back so it's away from their face.
Jump Rope for Heart is right around the corner. We will be kicking it off as soon as we return from break (January 3rd & 4th). If you'd like to get a head start with the fundraising, the on-line portion is now open. Below is a message from the American Heart Association:
The American Heart Association's goal is to improve the cardiovascular health of Americans. They will challenge our kids to start living a healthy lifestyle now to prevent problems later; and give them an opportunity to participate in a service learning project that funds the fight against heart diseases and stroke - #1 and #5 cause of death in our country.
Any student who registers using our school link and raises at least $150.0 online BEFORE the kick off presentation will be honored at the kick off and receive Momma Gabby.
(Please note: Baby Gus is earned at the $200 level and will come separately post event) All donations must be received by 6pm the day before the kick off in order to receive Momma Gabby. Please follow this link and 3 easy steps to get started.

Please join us in teaching our students the importance of being heart healthy for life!
Finally, with the winter months here, we are finding more and more students wearing boots to class. Please remind your student that if they wear boots to school, that they need to have a pair of tennis shoes either left in their locker area or kept in their backpacks so they have shoes to wear during class. Speaking of shoes, we are looking for a few pairs of shoes to be donated. If you have a pair of gently used shoes (especially size 6) that your child no longer wears (please no holes), we would love to have them. Thank you in advance.
We wish you and your family the best this holiday season!
Sincerely,
Jon Nydahl and Wendy Ryun
