GULF COAST: MEET AND READ 1/10/17
The next Gulf Coast Playwrights' Meet-and-Read will be held Tuesday, January 10 at 7pm at The Art Klub, and will feature the work of Frederick Mead.
If there are any other playwrights who want to bring pages, please let us know.
Gulf Coast Playwrights' Meet-and-Reads are gatherings in which writers bring their works-in-progress to be read aloud for feedback. We generally read sections that are 10 to 30 pages long, though we can read shorter and longer sections. Playwrights must have attended at least one Meet-And-Read before bringing in their work to be read. These can be cold table reads performed by whomever is there. Alternatively, playwrights can cast the reading in advance, with actors of their choice, and bring in a rehearsed version. The writers can also e-mail the script in advance to people who will be there, so that the readers can familiarize themselves with their parts without having to rehearse. One Meet-and-Read session is a prerequisite for having a Footlight Series Staged Reading.
