PATF Offers Loans
The Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) is a non-profit organization that makes it easier for people with disabilities, including veterans and older Pennsylvanians, to finance the assistive technology (AT) devices and services they want. The Foundation offers consumers low or no-interest loans for AT. The process is quick and respects the consumers' right to choose what they feel works best for them.
 AT is defined as any device or service that helps a person with a disability achieve a more independent and productive life. This can include, but is not limited to, adapted farm equipment, lowered floors for cars and vans, ramps, grab bars and wider doorways for homes, hearing and vision aids, scooters, iPads, and computers with special software and/or hardware.

Pennsylvania AgrAbility Program Kicks Off
PATF is pleased to announce that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Penn State University to promote and raise awareness of the USDA funded AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians project.
AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians offers a wide-range of services for farmers and farm family members with a disability or long-term health condition who want to remain in production agriculture. These include but are not limited to on-site assessment, identification of AT that may assist with daily tasks and referral information regarding resources/programs such as PATF.

Meet Susan Tachau 
Susan Tachau was one of the founding members of the PATF Board of Directors and has served as the organization's Executive Director since 2003. Prior to joining PATF, Susan was the policy analyst and policy coordinator for the Institute of Disabilities at Temple University.
Currently, Susan serves as the Treasurer for the Pennsylvania Statewide Independent Living Council and is a member of the Technology Task Force for the National Council on Independent Living. Additionally, she represents PATF on the PA Disability Budget Coalition and is President of HomeWorks, a micro-board supporting three individuals in the Philadelphia community.
Ms. Tachau is the mother of three children, two of whom have disabilities. She was recently awarded a Doctorate in Humane Letters, honoris causa, from Colorado College. Susan has a B.A. from Colorado College and a M.A. from the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University.

The Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) is a non-profit organization that provides low-interest loans to people with disabilities and older adults so that they can buy the assistive technology devices and services they need.
Assistive technology is any device that helps a person with a disability achieve a more independent and productive life. Devices may include such items as: adapted vehicles, i-Pads, accessible home modifications (including ramps, roll-in showers, lowered counter tops), computers with special software and/or hardware, hearing aids, flashing doorbells, scooters and wheelchairs, seat lift chairs, closed circuit televisions (CCTVs).
