Submitting a PATF Loan Application? Don't forget the supporting documents.
What are supporting documents? In addition to completing a PATF loan application, we ask for additional documentation. The types of documents can vary but, typically, we require two forms of identification, proof of income, and an invoice or quote for the assistive technology device or service that you are purchasing. Why? We need to ensure that income and identification are verified. Supporting documents also help reduce fraud to protect the applicant and the lender.

Susie Daily
Susie Daily is our Outreach and Social Media Coordinator. She helps increase awareness about PATF's programs and services across Pennsylvania by updating our social media sites, writing our newsletter, and creating outreach materials. If you know of a person or organization who needs to know about us,
let Susie know!
Susie's true passion is dogs, and she has started her own non-profit,
Paws and Affection, which trains and places service dogs with children with physical disabilities in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area.

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg. Executive Director, Susan Tachau, will present PATF's latest accomplishments and release our
2014-15 Annual Report.
Over the last year, PATF's financing made it possible for 176 people with disabilities to acquire the assistive technology (AT) they need. We also helped 839 individuals with Information & Assistance services, providing information about AT devices and possible funding resources. In fact, 2015 marks a milestone: we've successfully helped at least one person in every county in the state, including Sullivan and Forest Counties! Our default rate remains below 1%, which we credit in part to our staff who go above and beyond to forge relationships with each borrower and provide the help borrowers need, and in part to the life changing significance of the devices borrowers use these loans to buy.
Our board and staff invite you and other interested persons to join us to hear from policy makers about Pennsylvania's commitment to provide public funding to the program, and borrowers about the ways assistive technology has changed their lives. Scheduled to speak: are Senators Christine M. Tartaglione, Sean Wiley and Ryan P. Aument; Representatives Mauree Gingrich, Todd Stephens, and Dan Miller; David DeNotaris, newly appointed Executive Director of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, PA Department of Labor & Industry; and borrowers Matthew Seeley, who will describe the importance of having an adapted van to get to law school and accept an exciting new position as Executive Director of the PA Statewide Independent Living council, and David Miller, who will discuss his experience with the inaugural Money Club and how he makes use of assistive technology in his life.

The passage of the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act (ABLE) by Congress, and signed by President Obama, promises to make the most significant positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities since the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed 25 years ago. The ABLE Act will give individuals with disabilities (with an age of onset prior to 26 years old) an opportunity to establish a tax-exempt savings account for the use of qualified expenses that he/she can control. | Our mission at Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) is to provide education and financing opportunities for older Pennsylvanians and people with disabilities, helping them to acquire assistive technology devices and services that improve the quality of their lives. Assistive technology is any device that helps a person with a disability achieve a more independent and productive life. Devices may include such items as: adapted vehicles, iPads, accessible home modifications (including ramps, roll-in showers, lowered counter tops, and stairglides), computers with special software and/or hardware, hearing aids, flashing doorbells, scooters and wheelchairs, seat lift chairs. |
