Kerri Zanchi earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College with a concentration in health, disabilities, and aging. After earning her degree in 1999, Ms. Zanchi worked for United Cerebral Palsy of MetroBoston and served as the Director of Residential Services, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Individual Supports. In each of these positions, Ms. Zanchi contributed to promoting opportunities for self-direction and independence through the development of quality, person-centered services for adults with developmental disabilities.
Ms. Zanchi joined the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission in 2012 as the Acquired Brain Injury Waiver Program Manager. In this position, she worked collaboratively with the Office of Medicaid, the Department of Developmental Services, the University of Massachusetts and with the large provider community to develop innovative community-based services to facilitate the successful transition from long-term care facilities for members of the federal class action lawsuit, Hutchinson v. Patrick.
In 2014, Ms. Zanchi was appointed to the position of Assistant Commissioner of the Community Living Division of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission where she provided leadership and advocacy for the six departments that comprise the Community Living Division. These programs included the Brain Injury and Specialized Community Services; Protective Services; Independent Living and Assistive Technology; HCBS Waiver Unit; Home Care Assistance; and Consumer Involvement. Ms. Zanchi designed and guided performance management practices and contributed to cross agency and secretariat initiatives including Money Follows the Person Demonstration, the Balancing Incentive Program, Aging and Disability Resource Consortia, and the transition plan for compliance with the CMS Community Rule.
With her commitment to systems advocacy and to advancing the values of independent living for youth and adults with disabilities, Ms. Zanchi most recently joined the Center for Living and Working, Inc. as the Associate Executive Director. She led the organization through programmatic restructuring to include staff development, implementation of performance based outcomes, and quality management. She also served in the role as ADRC Coordinator of five partner agencies where she strengthened community and provider collaborations to promote seamless access to the disability and aging services within Central MA.
