This coming Friday the Nation will Inaugurate our 45th President. The Episcopal Church has played a key role in national life (see this coming Friday's San Marino Tribune Church Page article) and we join ourselves to the prayer service to be held January 21st at Washington National Cathedral.
Let us pray:
"O Lord our Governor, whose glory is in all the world: We commend this nation to your merciful care, that, being guided by your Providence, we may dwell secure in your peace. Grant to the President of the United States and to all in authority, wisdom and strength to know and to do your will. Fill them with the love of truth and righteousness, and make them ever mindful of their calling to serve this people in your fear; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen." The Book of Common Prayer, page 820
Sunday School will be visited by drummers, and invited into a drum circle this coming Sunday. They may make an appearance on the Close following Liturgy!
Also greatly entertaining will be our Treasurer Gail Rolfe's line-by-line presentation of the 2017 budget in the Library following the 10am Liturgy.
This coming Saturday, the Feast of St. Agnes Martyr, I observe my 33rd anniversary of Ordination to the Sacred Order of Priests, and I am brought to awareness of the joy and privilege of serving our Lord together with each one of you in the Parish Church of St. Edmund, San Marino.
Blessed Epiphanytide,
GFW+

VERGER'S LUNCH
January 22nd, 12:30pm

Hello Friends,

Now that the holiday season is coming to an end, it's time to plan for our next Brunch. I feel our Luncheon/Brunches have been quite successful and it's always a lot of fun spending quality time with good friends.

I've chosen Sunday January 22nd, 12:30pm at Matt Denny's Ale House (HERE), 145 E. Huntington Dr. Arcadia. They have a small but tasty Brunch menu, amazing BBQ, a large list of imported draft beer and $5 all you can drink Mimosas. I hope you will be able to make it.

Please spread the word and if you have a suggestion of a favorite dining spot for future lunches/brunches by all means let me know.

Wishing each of you a most blessed and prosperous New Year
Tony Faught (Verger)
