Welcome to the Scott County Library's newsletter especially for kids, teens, & families! Look for the newest edition at the end of each month to stay up to date on all the library happenings.

Please note:  Libraries are closed on Sunday 1/1 & Monday 1/2 for the New Year holiday, and on Monday 1/16 for the Martin Luther King Jr holiday.

Splatter Sisters group photo
Party in the Club kicks off on Saturday 1/14 with the Splatter Sisters!
Kids & families! Enjoy these FREE events in Club Prior next to the Prior Lake Library, starting with fun activities and crafts for kids from 10:30-11:00am and a get-up-and-move performance starting at 11:00. The series kicks off on Saturday, January 14 with the Splatter Sisters, a Minnesota favorite in family entertainment with an upbeat, interactive show that will have everyone on their feet and dancing along!

Register for free MacPhail Sing-Play-Learn preschool music classes at the Jordan Library
The first class is Saturday 1/14 from 1:00-1:45pm and the theme is "Musical Snowstorm" - registration is required due to class size limitations, so sign up at the link below or by calling or visiting the Jordan Library. Additional dates at Jordan are 2/11 and 3/4, and don't miss the upcoming Spanish language Sing Play Learn classes at Savage in March!

  • Listen at the Library at Jordan on Tuesdays at 3:30 pm - Mary the Librarian reads out loud from chapter books nominated for this year's MN youth book awards.
  • Disco Dance-a-ramas at Savage on selected Saturdays starting 1/7 at 10:30am - dance away the winter blahs with Ms Ally!
  • Waggin' Tales drop-in reading times with therapy dogs at Prior Lake, Shakopee, & Jordan on various dates.
  • Monthly Yoga Storytimes with Fran at Shakopee on 1/14 at 11:00am

Two more ACT Test Prep opportunities in early 2017
Come to our free ACT test prep sessions and take a pre-test to identify strengths & weaknesses, get test & study tips, and take a subject practice test.  

Are you a musical teen? Save this date, Thursday 2/23, for an evening open mic event for teens & new adults at Club Prior at the Prior Lake Library!
