At California Waterfowl, we support California ducks' breeding populations.
That was on display last week, when CWA released a group of ducks rescued by our Egg Salvage Program at the Greenhead Club in the Suisun Marsh, with volunteers from
International Bird Rescue and Bill Brush, the club's owner.
The Egg Salvage Program coordinates efforts to save duck nests imperiled by normal and necessary farming operations. Rescued eggs are incubated and ducklings are raised, then released into the wild when they're ready, which was yesterday for this group of ducks.
For this release, Bill hosted staff and volunteers from IBR and gave a presentation about the importance of wetland habitat conservation and the vital role hunters serve in protecting and managing habitats throughout California.
Check out the video for a look at the day and a glimpse into the hard work our Egg Salvage staff puts into rescuing ducks. For more information how our Egg Salvage Program rescues, hatches, rears and releases ducks, visit
