National Theater Project Announces Awards
National Theater Project has awarded $630,000   in support of six new ensemble and devised theater works that will tour the United States. Leadership support for NEFA's National Theater Project is generously provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

IMMIGRATION NATION Panel at Urbano Project
Creative City co-hosted IMMIGRATION NATION: A Public Conversation on the Value of and Challenges to Boston's Rich Immigrant Community moderated by WBUR 90.9 FM's Louise Kennedy at the Urbano Project. Guest panelists included Alejandra St. Guillen (Director of Immigrant Advancement, Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement - Boston, City of Boston), Anthony Marino (Director of Legal Services, Irish International Immigrant Center), and the artist behind IMMIGRATION NATION, Nora ValdezCreative City plans to host additional conversations at the intersection of arts and social issues. Board News

Christal N. Brown, Artistic Director, INSPIRIT, and Dance Program Chair, Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT joins the NEFA board of directors.
 
Christal Brown has the distinction of being many things. She endorses a short list of these attributes that includes the titles mother, artist, educator, and disciple. Brown is most well known as a dancer and choreographer due to her 20+ year career as a performer and artistic director. 
John E. Henry, Principal, MarlinSpike, LLC, Weston, MA  joins the NEFA board of directors.

John has been principal at MarlinSpike LLC since August 2009, providing business and legal consulting services to early stage companies and investor groups. John is also co-founder of Finite Solutions, an early-stage healthcare start-up focused on improving efficiencies and outcomes in workers compensation medical care.

  New England States Touring grant deadline is December 1, 2017, for projects taking place on or after March 1, 2017. The grant deadlines for NEST will now occur in August, December, and April. Details at  nefa.org
