MEM Students Celebrate December Commencement
Six students participate in graduation ceremony and MEM reception

Graduates (L to R): Moeen Mujeeb, Rodrigo Oviedo, Rodrigo Donoso, Jeremy Ballance, Carlos Villamizar, Chekit Mehta.

Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science celebrated the graduation of its accomplished master's and PhD students on Saturday, December 10.

Held in the Technological Institute's Ryan Auditorium, the event marked the third time Northwestern Engineering has conducted a ceremony for its December graduates, recognizing 212 master's students and 9 PhD students.

"Both our PhD and master's students play a critical role at McCormick," said Dean Julio M. Ottino. "As graduate students, you not only challenged yourself to learn new things and create new knowledge, but you served as role models and mentors for other graduate students and our undergraduate students. You connected with colleagues across departments and schools, and you enriched many of our programs by bringing your unique perspectives."

Twenty students graduated from the MEM program during August (1) and December (19), with six participating in the December Commencement event.  Of the twenty graduates, seven were part-time, thirteen were full-time, and represented the countries of Chile, China, India, Taiwan, and the US.  Students also earned concentrations in Project & Process Management (6) and Managerial Analytics (7).

Our recent graduates join the MEM alumni community consisting of over 800 proud WildCats .  We ask all of our alumni to keep their contact information current in the " Our Northwestern" alumni community network.

Congratulations to our graduates!!!!

Full Circle: MEM Alum Teaches Strategic Management Lecture
Joe Rake continues his personal development while giving back to MEM

For the past three years MEM Alum Joe Rake ('15) has returned to campus in October and February to discuss how companies can differentiate their product through packaging design and innovation.  With the support of Professor Don McNeeley, Joe has developed a one-hour lecture for students in the MEM437: Strategic Management course to gain insight from a Research & Development Lead in the field of packaging innovation.  It is a great story of how an MEM alum has maximized every opportunity to learn and interact with faculty and students after the degree.
