Elul Yoga - Friday, August 18th
at 8:30 AM in the Foyer.

The Hebrew month of Elul is highlighted in Jewish tradition as a time to build our capacity for spiritual growth in anticipation of the new year season, beginning with Rosh HaShana.  Join Hazzan/Rabbi Rachel, a certified teacher and long-time hatha yoga practitioner, for a weekly stretch of body, heart, mind and soul during this special season of increased reflection and introspection.

Learning and practicing the principles and postures of hatha yoga is yet another portal to explore these themes. These sessions are intended for practitioners of all levels, with modifications available as participants' needs dictate.

Wear comfortable clothing to allow for optimal movement.  Bring a yoga mat - all other props are provided.  Adat Shalom members, suggested $5 donation to the synagogue Social Action Fund per class, visitors and guests, $10 per class. Guests welcome! Sponsored by Makom @ Adat Shalom.

Refugee Resettlement Project Update

We may be assigned a refugee family very soon and we need to be ready! A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated money or signed up for items to donate. Now is the time to purchase or locate the items you are donating and drop them off at the homes congregants who've agreed to store them until we're assigned a family. Marcy Oppenheimer, Sandra Hayward, and Jayme Epstein have all agreed to store items.  If you need help getting your item(s) to the storage place please let us know.  If you can get it there yourself it will help a lot!

If you haven't yet had a chance to donate, please check this link to sign up to donate new and gently used household furnishings and goods - we still need a number of items, especially larger items like furniture.

We also need funds to purchase items that haven't been donated, rent a truck or van to transport items, and purchase food and clothing and other items for the family. Please send a contribution by check payable to Adat Shalom with "Refugee Resettlement" on the memo line.
