. This monthly email provides details to upcoming events, articles and website links, and military family resources. RIPIN is centrally located at

RI's Back to School Celebrations
18th Annual Celebration, August 19, 2017
The Back to School Celebration of Rhode Island (BTSCRI) is a 501 C3 non-profit organization created to involve parents in the education of their children, thereby helping to create an atmosphere of trust and open communication between schools, students and families. In 1999, BTSCRI organized its first event in one single location and distributed 600 backpacks full of school supplies to school children in the Providence area.
Since the first event BTSCRI has grown to 12 locations and serving over 15,000 school children last year and since its beginning more than 134,000 children have supported.
BTSCRI is truly a community event where all of our community gathers to support children and their families.
RIPIN is a proud community partner of BTSCRI.

The Rhode Island Department of Education will conduct public hearings and afford an opportunity for comment from the general public, including individuals with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities on the changes to the Significant Disproportionality under IDEA Part B policies and procedures.
The recommended revisions to RI Policies and Procedures for Significant Disproportionality are available for public review and comment on the RIDE website from August 5, 2017 through October 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
