Volunteers Turn Small Acts into Big Change

At MCCH, each staff member and volunteer has a hand in working to end homelessness in our community. Elena has been volunteering at our administrative office for two years and finds meaning in each day.

MCCH Launches New Blog!

MCCH is proud to announce the launch of our new blog! Through this medium, you can increase your awareness about homelessness, hear our clients' stories, and recognize the incredible impact you and other generous community members make in our clients' lives.

Since our launch, we've addressed the issue of panhandling and busted 5 myths about homelessness. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to be notified of new posts!

MCCH's 2017 HOME Conference will be held on November 6 at Johns Hopkins University’s Montgomery County campus. This annual conference promotes best practices to end homelessness.

Last year’s conference was attended by 250 professionals, representing 21 local nonprofits, as well as various local, state and federal government agencies providing homeless services and permanent housing programs. Attendees benefit from educational tracks targeting direct service staff, program managers, executive directors and public policy leaders. All sessions provide continuing education credits for relevant professionals.

Registration information will be available in September. At this time, we are actively seeking sponsors to support this high quality conference.

Volunteers Making a Difference

Thanks to Berlin, Ramos & Company P.A., Certified Public Accountants for making lunches for the clients at our HBCAC Men's Emergency Shelter! As they worked, these volunteers learned about homelessness in Montgomery County and how we can work together to make positive changes in our community.

Thanks to our friends from Support the Girls for their donation of an astounding 13,000 menstrual hygiene products and over 300 bras! These items will go directly to the women we serve.

You can help our clients as they transition into new homes by donating other household and hygeine necessities or by donating a whole Move-In Kit!

Thank you for your commitment to ensuring that all Montgomery County residents have a safe, stable and affordable place to call home!

Sincerely,

Susie Sinclair-Smith, Executive Director
