Rochester Opera House presents Comedian Lenny Clarke

An American comedian and actor, Lenny is famous for his thick Boston accent and role as Uncle Teddy on the series Rescue Me. He was the most famous "saloon comic" in Boston during the 1980s, the heyday of the Boston comedy scene. In 1980, Clarke wrote and starred in a local television show Lenny Clarke's Late Show. Since his early days in Boston, Clarke starred in his own short-lived network sitcom Lenny (1990), and in such TV shows as Contest Searchlight, The Job, The John Larroquette Show and It's All Relative and movies like Monument Ave., Fever Pitch and Southie. From 2004 to 2011, Clarke appeared in the recurring role of Uncle Teddy on the FX comedy-drama Rescue Me. Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Dover

There will be four regularly scheduled downtown walking tours. The Downtown Walking Tours will leave from the Chamber parking lot, proceeding through the downtown area including narratives outlining the early settlement period through the manufacturing period which began its demise in 1896. Tours begin at the Chamber Visitor Center at
10:30 a.m. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling

We will focus on elements of craft, such as scene, characterization, dialogue, narrative voice, point-of-view, and more. I will incorporate writing exercises and prompts, and we will engage in lively discussions that will provide you with the tools needed to bring your stories to fruition. In this workshop, we will also address the writing process itself, including revision and editing, and I will offer strategies and tips to help you meet your writing goals, and resources for submitting work for publication. Writers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome.
