Visiting Justin's Beach House
B arbara and Fred  McNally, with  Romeo the Doberman Pinscher, recently visited Justin's Beach House. Here is what Barbara shared with us about that visit.

"We had a wonderful visit. The family was warm, loving, and dog lovers. Meghan, the 'patient,' was especially dog loving, missing her lab at home.  She spent most of our visit lying on the floor next to Romeo, rubbing him and talking to him. Talk about a tear producing scene!!! She & her family & friends were lovely to be with: warm, friendly & easy to be with.  The visit was a pleasure for us.

"Romeo was on duty from the moment he arrived with no down time to walk halls like we have at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach. That constant, consistent interaction can be a lot!

"I would love to see Meghan and her family again and hope all is going well with her. She was a sweet, gentle, loving person.  Hopefully we get to go back to Justin's Beach House soon - a great experience!"

Shining Stars
In order to honor all of our therapy companions - past and present - PAWS has created a hallway of fame, a beautiful gallery entitled "Our Shining Stars!"

The gallery displays stellar, framed, and personalized 8 x 10 photos of PAWS Therapy Companions. (You get to choose the picture we frame of your cat, dog, or bunny.)

We hope that you will help adorn the walls of the PAWS Office & Training Center with photos of our most treasured furry friends!

PAWS for People Yard Sale
Do you have stuff sitting around your home that you haven't used in years?  Wish you could get rid of it without the hassle of running your own yard sale?  Do you want to help fundraise for your Wag-n-Walk team but don't know how?

PAWS for People can help!  This year, we will be hosting a PAWS for People Yard Sale to benefit the Wag-n-Walk!  It's the first of its kind and we want YOU to join us!

Your team or individuals from your team can reserve a spot to sell whatever you'd like, it can be pet-related or otherwise.  When someone purchases your items, you'll handle all payments.  At the end of the event, you'll turn in your earnings.  If you're part of a team, the funds will be directly applied to your team.  If you are not part of a team, your earnings can go directly to the overall event fundraising.  All you need to do is join us with a table and items to sell for this day of fun!

Where: Skyline Methodist Church,
3100 Skyline Dr, Wilmington, DE 19808

When: 9/16/17 from 8 am - 1 pm
Stay all day if you want or have your team rotate shifts through the day.

How:  If your team is registered for the Wag-n-Walk already OR  if you are not part of a Wag-n-Walk team but want to participate and donate your proceeds to the event, e-mail  PAWSevents@PAWSforPeople.org  to reserve your spot for the Yard Sale.
This year's Wag-n-Walk theme is  PAWS Pet Therapy Teams are Rock Stars!
Everyone who participates in the event dressed to rock & stroll will be entered into a special raffle.

All Wag-n-Walk teams registered with at least 5 members by August 31st will be entered to win a custom designed team pin for each team member.

Shining Stars
Ellen Riedel & Skip Watts with Buddy & Charlie
Ellen and Skip joined PAWS in April of 2012. They visit with their handsome, Advanced, Yellow Labs, Buddy and Charlie. They can be found regularly visiting at Christiana Care Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and Brookdale White Chapel. This foursome also loves to represent PAWS at multiple Community Events. What a great team!

Thank You for Your Service
Mary Maloney & Isabella
This team joined PAWS in May of 2013 because they were excited to do something for the community together. Mary and Isabella will be greatly missed at Cokesbury Village, where they made many friends during their regular visits there. We thank you, Mary for so lovingly sharing your sweet girl and we hope you both enjoy your well earned retirement.

Do you have a visiting story to share?  The most popular segment of our e-news tends to be about visiting. Please share your stories with us so we can help share the impact of pet therapy! No pictures needed, but if you have them (and photo releases) send those, too!  Send stories to Wendy ( Registration@PAWSforPeople.org ).  Thank you!
