Dear Friends,

"You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told." -Psalm 40:5

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to join 19 other congregation and community members on a week long mission trip to Belmopan, Belize. This experience was amazing in its entirety, broadened my worldview and presented me with countless surprises. Strangely, the thing that surprised me the most was not the interactions I had with the children in Belize, but rather how the Lord took me more than 1,000 miles away from Saxe Gotha to help me learn about its members.

I was one of the youngest members on our team and thought I knew about half of them fairly well before we left. We had several meetings in the months leading up to the trip, so by August 1st, I felt confident that I at least knew everyone's name and just a little bit about all of them. However, as the week went on, it became evident that I knew little about the wonderful and thriving adult ministry at Saxe Gotha and that there the people with me on the trip were some of the most genuine I had ever met. Every day, I saw more and more how connected the members of Saxe Gotha are through hearing testimonies, having conversations and observing the love members of our team showed to the people of Belize.

The Lord was definitely at work this week, in more ways than one. I am so thankful to have had this excellent experience and to have gained a better understanding of the world around me- both 1,000 and 3 miles away.

In Christ's love,
Grace Farrar
