Capitol Hill - 532 19th Ave E

Fuel Coffee is committed to perfectly caffeinating each customer with the highest quality coffee, and to redefine the standards of customer service in a welcoming, friendly, community-focused atmosphere.   Owner  Dani Cone opened Fuel Coffee on 19 th  Ave E in 2005 after working for more than a decade as a barista on Capitol Hill.  Additional locations in Montlake and  Wallingford followed shortly after in 2006 and 2007.

Cone & Steiner General, a modern neighborhood market, opened on 19th Ave E in January 2014.  C&S is modeled after Dani's  Great Grandfather Sam Cone's grocery store, the original Cone & Steiner circa 1915, which Sam co-owned with his brother-in-law (Steiner).  C&S features a curated mix of specialty, local, and staple items, fresh flowers, made-to-order sandwiches, beer and wine by the glass or growler, candy by the piece or pound, and so much more!

Fuel Coffee and Cone & Steiner believe that people come together over good food and drink and are dedicated to making great spaces for exactly that!   Come say hello, or check out our events, demos, and pop-ups!

Raise a Glass Fundraiser for Refugees

Come out to The Summit Building in Capitol Hill to grab a drink, hear refugee stories, and learn more about and consider supporting the work of World Relief Seattle.

World Relief Seattle works with the local church, the community, the U.S. Department of State, and additional organizations to help refugees resettle in Western Washington. Their goal is to aid and empower refugees in their journey of building a new life.  Refugees and immigrants bravely leave behind everything familiar to seek safety, a life fear from fear, and the chance for a new start.

At World Relief Seattle, they come alongside these new neighbors by providing support and care through their first months and years of transition as an investment in future generations.

RSVP at  http://tiny.cc/happyhourwrs.  Cohosted by First Covenant Church and First Baptist Church.

Sound Mental Health IMAGINE Fundraise Luncheon

November 14, 11:30am 1:00pm
Hyatt Olive 8

Imagine the day when seeking behavioral health treatment without judgement or stigma is a reality.

Imagine when everyone, despite their ability to afford quality care, can access quality mental health or addiction treatment in the community.

Most of all , Imagine the day when a single parent with three kids, the pre-teen struggling in school, or a survivor of domestic violence actually have a chance to experience hope and have the opportunity to find that recovery from substance use and mental illness is within reach.

Imagine that you can be the catalyst of this change. Sound Mental Health hopes that you will partner with us November 14 during our IMAGINE luncheon and join our effort to save lives in our community.

SMH is the most comprehensive provider of quality behavioral health, housing and substance use treatment services in King County. We reached more than 22,000 individuals last year, but can support more with your help.
Your support enables SMH to bridge the gaps in funding that drive our innovative programs that give a struggling student a new opportunity to excel in school, help a mother in crisis get stable so that she can save her family, or get a developmentally disabled man the job he always needed to be independent.   SMH does not give up on anyone in need in our community. And we ask you to be a partner with us in this ambitious vision.

RSVP by Tuesday, October 31 st  - www.smh.org/imagine

For more information or to be a table captain, please contact the Sound Mental Health Development office at 206.302.2260 or [email protected]

E DENNY WAY WESTBOUND CLOSURES - DENNY SUBSTATION PROJECT

Street closures scheduled to begin October 10th
Expect ten weeks of construction work on E Denny Way between Summit Ave and Boylston Ave E

Beginning in mid-October, crews will be working on a transmission line in E Denny Way between Summit Ave and Boylston Ave E. This work is necessary for the Denny Substation to tie in to the transmission line that runs underneath Denny Way. The first phase of this work involves excavating a large pit to expose the transmission line. The secondphase of work involves freezing the oil-filled transmission line, splicing in new cable, filling the new line with oil, and restoring the street.

In order to complete this work, crews will close the westbound lane of E Denny Way between Belmont Ave E and Boylston Ave E beginning as early as October 17 for approximately 10 days (Phase 1). Beginning as early as October 28, they will extend the closure area to the west for approximately 2 months (Phase 2). Eastbound access on E Denny Way will be maintained during both phases.
