Our annual partnered event with the City of Sterling Heights at their wonderful Senior Life Activity Center location is fast approaching.  We are honored this year to have as our guest speaker, Hank Winchester, WDIV Channel 4 Reporter "Help Me Hank", scheduled for 11 am.  Our morning also includes numerous health services, old medication collection, eyeglass adjustments, blood pressure checks, stroke screening, hearing screening, chair massages, balance testing, podiatrist and dental checks. We have also added two presentation speakers covering the topics of Advanced Care Planning and Crime Stoppers protecting seniors.

Business members interested in participating as an exhibitor still have time
to apply. Click here for the application.

The Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce is looking for potential candidates for our open board of directors positions. We are currently seeking board seat nominations for three-year terms covering 2018 - 2020, and we invite qualified members to run for a seat on our board of directors. Serving on the Chamber's board of directors is a great way to become more engaged with the organization, connect with the regional business community and stand out as a leader among your peers.

Current Directors whose terms expire in 2017 are Clark Andrews, Dan Felstow, Brent Freeman, Terri North, Barbara Rossmann, Gary Tedesco, Jeff Vollmar and Mike Weiss. We currently have no vacant seats, so we will be filling eight (8) spots to three-year terms.

Eligible directors and qualified members with an interest in serving on our board can submit nominations for consideration by our Nominating Committee. Please contact Chamber President Melanie Davis at 586.731.5400, ext. 22 or [email protected], for more information and to obtain the necessary application.

LET US HELP YOU BUILD YOUR BUSINESS!
One of the benefits of membership is our Business Resource Alliance Groups. BRAG™ was developed almost 20 years ago for Chamber members to increase their business, get to know other members, and build lasting relationships. It is one of the most powerful tools we offer to help our members improve their business revenue.

Since its inception, BRAG™ has been a very successful program. Each year members pass literally hundreds of referrals to each other, resulting in well over $1,000,000 in revenue for participating members! This is revenue that they would not have if they did not participate in BRAG™.

We invite you to join one of these dynamic groups. CLICK HERE to see a list of all the groups and where they meet. If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a member of a BRAG™ group, please contact Patty Le Duc at 586.731.5400, x21 or email.

M-59 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE FROM MDOT:
Last week, we were able to reopen Hayes, place curb and gutter on over half of the eastbound roadway and remove all of the old pavement in areas where we aren't maintaining traffic on westbound. This week, we will pave and reopen the crossover between Utica Park Blvd. and Delco, finish placing stone on eastbound in preparing for HMA placement next week and begin placing stone on westbound.

Our next big closure is the median of Schoenherr. This is planned to begin Monday, August 21 and last for 10 days. As with the Hayes closure, while the median is closed, traffic will still be able to access M-59 from Schoenherr and vice-versa. We are doing this work now so it can be completed before the Labor Day holiday weekend and before a majority of the schools are back in session.

Please check our website and social media pages for updates!
