September 13, 2017 will mark 7 years for the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce. 

With this exciting birthday approaching, GINCC is preparing for its Annual Dinner, slated for Thursday, October 19 .

This year's theme? The Great Gatsby, complete with a remarkable video presentation,
Transformation. The video will focus on telling the story of the West End through photos and video of the 1920's compared to present day.

This formal event will also include a fun social hour, a plated dinner, and a presentation prior to the video showing. 1920's attire is encouraged!

Beginning Friday, September 8 the Ishpeming VFW Post 4573 will have Friday Night Fish Fry every Friday, cooked and served by volunteers.

A variety of tasty fish dinners will be served from 4-7PM at the Post (310 Bank St., Ishpeming). In addition, golden fried chicken, ribeye steaks, and burgers can be ordered. All items are available for takeout.

The Marji Gesick 100, a Point-to-Point adventure across Marquette County (Michigan), will begin Friday, September 22. Save the Date!

Climb 13,000 feet beginning in Marquette and ending downtown Ishpeming. Race against Tinker Juarez, 2016 Marji Gesick Champion, as he returns in 2017 to defend his title. 

This race is self-supported. There are no official aid-stations. GPS is required. To qualify as a finisher, you will be required to collect a poker chip from four checkpoints along the course. Location of checkpoints is not disclosed. They will be highly visible the day of the race. In the event you arrive at the finish line without all four checkpoint chips you will not be eligble for belt buckles, dollar bills or awards. Worried about not having aid-stations? Fear not as the community comes out in full force to support this event! 

Don't want to bike 100-miles? There is an equally memorable 50-Mile option for you to enjoy (suffer through). Don't want to bike 50-Miles? No problem! Try running it: 100-Miles or 50-Miles. Your choice.

ABOUT THE DINNER

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce (GINCC) is excited to present its 7 th Annual Dinner  on  Thursday, October 19th  at the  Ishpeming Armory  (900 Palms Ave., Ishpeming). This year's theme is "The Great Gatsby," and will feature the short film,  Transformation

The event will include a social hour at 5:30PM and a formal dinner at 7PM with an inspirational program to follow, honoring our members and community members. The evening will conclude with the showing of Transformation, which will tell the story of Western Marquette County from the 1920s compared to the present day through photos and videos of the beautiful West End.
