CHAMBER MEMBER E-NEWSLETTER

Happy Holidays!

Greetings to our Members & Friends!

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a happy & prosperous New Year!   Winter 2017 is already looking promising with a nice blanket of white out there.

We Thank You for your continued support and, in turn, we are proud to support You.  Your membership allows us to fulfill our mission to promote thriving economic development in the area.  We are proud to promote the many offerings of the communities we serve via the Burke Area website, www.burkevermont.com, our facebook page, twitter page, and our monthly enewsletter with a subscribership of both residents and out of state visitors.  Feel free to email us anytime and tell us about your events or business news so that we can share it via one or more of these methods.

Currently, we are advertising Winter Recreation offerings in the area with ads in Vermont Life, VT Ski + Ride, and the Burlington Airport Guide.  We also have ads online at www.boston.com and www.vermont.com.  All our ads link to the Burke Area website where folks can find information about all our member businesses as well as a calendar of local events, area news and more.

All of us at the Burke Chamber are proud to help host and organize many events that benefit residents, visitors and businesses including the New England Mountain Bike Festival (NEMBAfest),  CircumBurke Mountain Bike & Trail Run Challenge and, of course, the Burke Fall Festival which celebrates 30 years in 2017.

On December 11th, we hosted Santa's Annual Pilgrimage to West Burke.  Over 100 kids and some very patient parents came to meet the Big Guy, enjoy cookies, cider and an ole' fashioned sleigh ride.  Many thanks to the Cole Family for welcoming everyone to Mike's Gas for the festivities.

Next month, we host our Annual Community Dinner to benefit the Burke Senior Meal Site.  Please join us and help us meet our goal of raising $1,000!

We are happy to provide many Membership Benefits including business and event listings on the Burke Area website which receives an average of 50,000 visitors per year.  Our heating fuel discount helps members save an estimated $300 per year on home and business heating costs.

Your support is tremendously appreciated and it is our pleasure to serve the community.

With many thanks,

Tim Tierney, President

Ron Groskopf, Vice President

Gail Weed, Treasurer

Linda Lotti, Secretary

Laura Malieswski, Chamber Administrator

The judges have spoken and winners were chosen at a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday December 18th. Each winner got $100 sent to their charity of choice.   Visit our Facebook Page for photos of the trees.  Thank you to the Burke Mountain Club for hosting the display of trees and to Cafe Lotti for providing hot cocoa at the tree lighting event.
