Since its founding in 2012, the Warriors Community Foundation has delivered $6.7 in impact to support education and youth development in the Bay Area.
"As the Bay's Team, supporting the community we live and play in is one of our highest priorities," said Warriors owner and CEO Joe Lacob. "We are committed to helping close the achievement gap for disadvantaged youth in the Bay Area and are fortunate to be in a position to help."

The Tarp Twins

Recently I was able to secure an exclusive interview with the Tarp Brothers while they were hanging out in their usual location. There is a constant buzz these days regarding the future homes of the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A's and we thought this was the perfect time to get their view from the top.
What would you like to say to Raiders and A's fans?
"You see us at every game at the Coliseum, covering up the A's since 2006 and the Raiders since 2013. We have rolled up and down at the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum (OACC), Network Associates, McAfee, Overstock.com, O.co and now back to OACC.
We loved the panoramic view of the Oakland hills, which was a staple at A's games, until the concrete mess named Mount Davis ruined everything."
Who is bigger?
"I guess it's me," said Greenie, who covers up 20,878 seats for A's games. "My brother Blackie only covers up around 11,000 seats."
What happens if the Raiders move and the A's build a new ballpark?
"On advice of our legal team we are not at liberty to answer that question."
Who is your favorite player?
"For us it's not a player but
Clay Wood, head groundskeeper at the Coliseum. While most Californians are letting their lawns turn 'Cleveland' Brown and wither away during the drought, Wood is making sure his Coliseum sod is just the right color of green. The Coliseum is the last stadium in the country shared by the cleats and spikes of a Major League Baseball team and a NFL team.
Going from football back to baseball and back again is a massive operation. Dozens of workers, including stagehands, crane operators and clean up crews, must work in tandem to remove extra seating from the outfield and infield grass, change signage, swap the tarps (us) that cover the top deck seating, and exchange goal posts for foul poles. Clay and his small crew are our MVPs."
How would you describe your relationship with the Athletics?
"In
2006
, the Athletics asked me to cover the entire third deck, reducing capacity to 34,077, the smallest in the majors. I cover up 20,878 seats, which would otherwise be usable for baseball. For the 2008 season, Sections 316-318 of the third deck, behind home plate, were re-opened as an all-you-can-eat food area. That increased the Coliseum's capacity for baseball to 35,067. The A's originally told me that closing off the upper deck would create a 'more intimate environment' for baseball.
For the 2013 American League Division Series (ALDS), the tarp was removed from the original third deck, though Mount Davis remained covered. The attendance for the first game of the ALDS was 48,401, the highest since 2004. The Coliseum was rocking.
The A's have made some changes at the top of their business hierarchy and they are telling us that our days may be numbered, if they make progress in identifying and building a new baseball park."

How would you describe your relationship with the Raiders?
"In February 2013 the Oakland Raiders announced that my brother, Blackie, would cover 11,000 seats in Mount Davis to help the then struggling Silver and Black avoid blackouts. This reduced capacity to 53,250, the smallest in the NFL. (The league rules require a minimum capacity of 50,000, and no other stadium has fewer than 61,000 seats.) Under NFL rules, the tarps have to stay in place throughout the season."
Any parting thoughts?
"You don't exactly need to be a marketing genius to realize that the Raiders are in a magical turnaround season and I should be rolled back ASAP," Blackie continued.
"I'll show you 11,000 seats that could be sold in around 30 minutes. Cut me into pieces and sell them as souvenirs and have them autographed by Raider stars of yesterday and today.
The Raiders have one remaining home game on December 24 versus the Baltimore Colts. Sell the tickets for $50 bucks a seat or more and we could raise a half million dollars for the fund that the hometown teams have set up for the victims and families of the Warehouse Fire tragedy. Greenie will do the same for A's Opening night on April 3. We'd like to help on the way out."
