What's Up at the Custom House  - December 11, 2016
NLMS -- nicely nautical & totally Thames.
On Saturday afternoon, USCG cadets hung an enormous wreath on New London Harbor Light .
The wreath was donated by Shelley's Garden Center in Branford, which is owned by the Chambers family.
Christiane Chambers' son, Henry Fowler, goes to the Marine Science Magnet School in Groton. They all know and love Harbor Light! Above, those are our cadets, and that's Christiane, at left, with the wreath.  Thank you, all.

Facebook page Lighthouse Inn , New London keeps up with developments at that beloved landmark. It's shared places, like the Lighthouse Inn, that bind a community together.
Last week, someone stole the historic Lighthouse Inn sign.
Alwyn Christy, who purchased the inn last month and now is beginning its restoration, is doing New London and this neighborhood a great service.
Since the sale, however, he has received a regular series of unfriendly, unneighborly, anonymous phone calls, dog feces has been thrown onto the property, and now the historic sign has been taken.
Mr. Christy is there most days working on the Inn. If you appreciate his effort, why not stop by and say hello, or send a letter to say 'thank you'.
