CSI Enterprise Web Initiative Progress Update

What's our progress?

Nancy Newland, IT Service Owner, NNewland@csi.edu, 208-732-6238

Power Engineers visited directly after President Fox's Friday Forum and shared the following...

The first project of this 4 in 1 project, Identity Access Management- is stable. We had to build the base or foundation of the technology structure. This includes a single-sign-on- authentication throughout CSI's various application with just one login.

StageDoor Stage Door Presents "Something Special: The Legacy of RJ Baxter and the Ineffable Power or Radio"

The CSI Stage Door Series will present "Something Special: The Legacy of RJ Baxter and the Ineffable Power of Radio" on December 14.  The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium.

The intimacy of radio lends itself to stories, both in music and speech. For more than one hundred years, radio broadcasts have captured listeners' imagination and emotion, and radio remains today one of the most powerful communication media. Join Jeff Fox at the next Stage Door for a live radio "broadcast," an exploration of the ineffable qualities of radio, of listening to music from the 20s through the 50s and the evocative power of voice and recorded music as connection to the imagination and heart of the human condition.

Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for CSI or high school and under students and are available at the CSI Box Office, by calling 732-6288, at the door, or by going online to http://tickets.csi.edu. Seating is limited to 100 people.

The CSI Stage Door Series, intimate arts experiences where both performers and audience members are on the stage itself, are designed to be thought-provoking and a little out of the ordinary in different ways - whether it's because of the intimate setting, the material performed,  the way they are presented, or the collaborations involved.

For more information, contact the CSI Fine Arts Center at 732-6788.

HerrettForum December Herrett Forum "Del Parkinson"

Longtime Idaho concert pianist, Dr. Del Parkinson will perform and narrate a program at the Herrett Forum at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Parkinson is a Boise State University music professor who has recorded seven albums and is a member of the international roster of Steinway Piano artists. His Dec. 14 program, 'Once Upon a Time,' features selections by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Bernstein, and Gershwin. Parkinson will blend narration and live performance, describing the story behind each composition before playing it.

Parkinson taught at Ricks College prior to joining the BSU faculty in 1985. His post-doctoral diploma is from the renowned Julliard School of Music in New York. He has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

The Herrett Forum is a monthly series of presentations generally held the third Wednesday evening of each month during the school year. Topics are coordinated by the Herrett Forum Committee, a group of community individuals dedicated to bringing high quality presentations to Twin Falls. No tickets are required for this free public lecture. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Herrett Center for Arts and Science is located on the north side of the College of Southern Idaho campus at the North College Road entrance.
