New Software Products for the Highway Capacity Manual 6th Edition 
 

The 6th edition of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) (developed and maintained by the Transportation Research Board) has recently been released at  http://www.trb.org/publications/hcm6e.aspx.  Dr. Scott Washburn is distributing, at no cost, new software tools that address the uninterrupted-flow analysis methodologies of the HCM.  [ Read more]

The best-selling, newly updated  Principles of Highway Engineering and Traffic Analysis, 6th Edition provides the depth of coverage necessary to solve the highway-related problems that are most likely to be encountered in engineering practice. The focus on highway transportation is appropriate in light of the dominance of the highway mode in the U.S. and available employment opportunities. WTS Florida Gator Student Chapter Creates Mentorship Program 


During summer and fall 2016 semesters, the WTS Florida Gator student chapter collaborated with the Central Florida (CFL) WTS professional chapter, in particular with Lara Bouck and Danyu Shi, to establish a distance mentorship program. The mentorship's major goal is to help and prepare the WTS student board members transition from academia to industry.   [Read more]

UFTI Attends the 4th Annual Florida Automated Vehicles Summit
 

Faculty and students from the UFTI attended the 4 th
Annual Florida Automated Vehicles Summit in Tampa, Fla., which was held November 29-30, 2016.  The UFTI has been regularly attending the Summit because the Institute has various projects related to automated and connected vehicles (AVs).
