Principal's Message
Most Likely to Succeed is a groundbreaking documentary about education and curriculum reform in 21st century America. Directed by Greg Whiteley and produced by Ted Dintersmith.

Join Highlands on December 15th from 530-830 to view the documentary and then partake in dinner and discussion around the film, innovation, creativity and personalized learning here at EPS. Dinner will be provided. Please register here for this exciting night. Highlands staff and families will have week to register before it is opened to the entire Edina Public School community. Do not wait.

I am excited to think and discuss all that is next for us in education. This is a great way for us to keep learning together. Thanks for considering and I hope we have a strong Highlands showing.
Be well, Katie

Thank you.

After the dinner and discussion event Mike Kosim (HL parent) approached me about creating some mini discussion groups that would meet monthly share a meal and discuss relevant topics and build community together. We are calling it; Dine with Nine.

If this is something you are interested in please email me ( kathryn.mahoney@edinaschools.org ) or Mike Kosim ( mike.kosim@gmail.com ) or you can fill in the google form and we will send you notification. Our goal is to have at least one group going before the end of the year. This only requires 3-5 families but it would be amazing to have more.
Thank you to our Screening Volunteers!

We gave each student a reference bookmark for doing research and looking up their library accounts from home. Here's a screencast to show you how to use it.

Next week, we will have another open lab for students, this time allowing them to take apart and examine the insides of obsolete technology. If you have any old keyboards, mice, remote controls, or land line phones lying around your house or apartment, we will gladly take them off your hands for this activity (with the understanding that you won't get them back...at least not in one piece J).

Also next week, students will be able to add their own titles to our "Books we are thankful for" wall.  Stop in and watch our gratitude grow.

Another Successful Great Gathering!
While we are still fine tuning the income for Great Gathering, we did have a record attendance of 276 people. Thank you for the organizers, the volunteers, the donors and the attendees. It really does take a village to raise our kids.
