Adam Bibbs, Phy Ed teacher has notified us that he will not be returning in the fall. We thank Mr. Bibbs for his work at Loyola and wish him well!

Jena Schoenrock, who would have filled the role of Secondary Math teacher, has chosen to accept a job in her hometown of Janesville, so we have been busy interviewing for that position. I'm happy to announce:

Kevin Elton has been hired as Assistant Principal & AP Calculus teacher . Mr. Elton graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead with bachelor's degrees in Math Education and Business, from Concordia College, St. Paul with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and from Hamline University where he obtained his K-12 Principal Licensure. He has teaching experience in both public and private schools, as well as coaching experience. We welcome Mr. Elton to our leadership team!

David Nixon has been hired as Secondary Math Teacher & Head Volleyball Coach . Mr. Nixon holds a degree in Physical Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a degree in Math from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. He has coached the LeSueur- Henderson varsity volleyball program for the past 17 years.

Cristina Roche will join our Secondary Math team.  Ms. Roche is a graduate of MSU, and completed her student teaching within Mankato schools. While obtaining her degree, she spent some time observing in Loyola classrooms, and is excited to be joining our community!

Jacob Staloch has been hired to teach Phy Ed in grades 5-9 . Mr. Staloch recently graduated from Winona State University with a degree in Phy Ed and Health. He will be helping to coach our football program this fall. We welcome his passion for teaching students about physical activity!

For those interested in Band, please be sure you have filled out the required forms. Click here to access the informational email and form that was originally sent out in May.

Preschool Plus
We have added a new component to our preschool program: Preschool Plus. This is an extended care program that will give our morning preschool families the opportunity to stay at Loyola until the end of the school day. Students will eat lunch at school and have rest time, along with more structured play time in the afternoons. Deanna Hofmeister will lead this program. Please contact Angie Casteel for more information.

K-12 Dress Code
K-6 Students will be in uniform, consisting of navy or khaki (please note the addition of khaki bottoms to the K-4 grades) pants, shorts or skirts or jumpers,
pl aid #57 skirts or jumpers, navy or white polo tops, and navy cardigans for girls, navy sweaters for boys.

Loyola sweatshirts (blue, gold, gray, white, navy, black) may be worn with daily uniforms; other non-Loyola sweatshirts will not be permitted. We were seeing a lot of Mankato Royals, Dance Express, Mankato United, etc. sweatshirts last year, and those will not be permitted this year. We will also be phasing out the non-traditional school color spirit wear, such as pink and purple. We are striving for a more unified look, with potential changes to our uniform policy for the 2018/19 school year. We will be putting together a task force that will include parents, staff and students regarding this issue. Watch for more information and a uniform survey that will be out soon. We value your input!

7/8 Grades: As we move to one campus, we have the opportunity to offer our 7th and 8th graders a smooth transition into secondary grades. With that, 7th and 8th graders will no longer be required to wear uniforms.

7-12 Grade Students Dress Code: Parents, please be sure to   review the dress code policy, including the consequences for dress code violations.

We will be putting together a task force that will include parents, staff and students to review our uniform policy and dress code. Watch for more information soon. We value your input!
