Championship on the 2017 schedule is the
2017 Mid Amateur - hosted by the stunning
Cobblestone Creek Country Club on Friday and Saturday, August 11 and 12. Open to men with an RDGA-issued USGA GHIN Handicap, ages 25 and older, this event features 36 holes of Stroke Play against the best golfers in the area.
...PLUS, the top 3 finishers (plus ties) will receive an exemption into the 2018 RDGA District Championship!
The entry fee for this event is $145 and includes cart, range, lunch each day, prizes, and hors d'oeuvres following final round - and guests are invited to attend!

The Rochester District Golf Association is excited to announce that Irondequoit Country Club will be hosting the fourth annual RDGA Women's Open this year - bringing together women golfers of all abilities in the spirit of competition and cameraderie!
Scheduled for Monday, September 11, the
2017 RDGA Women's Open
is an event for all women who have an active USGA-GHIN Handicap Index. The format will consist of 18 holes of stroke play - with multiple flights, so that players will be competing against other players of similar abilities.

When more than 2 inches of rain fell on Mendon Golf Club within an hour on Monday morning, July 24 - making the course unplayable - tournament officials and management at the nearby Golf Club at Blue Heron Hills stepped up to offer their club to host the 75-player field for the U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifier.
In an example of teamwork between two local golf facilities, two USGA Sectional Qualifiers that had been scheduled for two different area courses since the beginning of the season - the

- came together and were hosted by the one venue that had the space and conditions to do so...

WINNERS CROWNED AT RESERVOIR CREEK

At Reservoir Creek Country Club on Sunday, July 30, winning teams were recognized for low net score, above left, and low gross score, above right.

Reservoir Creek Golf Club
played host to the annual
Rochester District Golf Association Women's Handicapped Team Scramble
on Sunday, July 30.
A field of 72 golfers, competing in 18 four-person
teams
, participated in the event, with the
teams
posting the top net score and top gross score earning first-place honors.
Teams
competed in flights based on a single
team
handicap formulated from the individual USGA Handicap Index of each member of a
team
.
The overall net score winning team of Yvette Burri, Cherie Wage, Susan Hopkins and Tara Spencer posted a winning score of 53.
The overall gross score winning
team
of
Wendy Bolton
,
Susan Roth
,
Annette McKay
and
Kathryn Cashion
finished with a 63.

SCORSE WINS PLAYOFF
TO CLAIM FIFTH RDGA DISTRICT TITLE

The
87th RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Memorial may have been shortened to 54 holes due to inclement weather, but what it lacked in length was made up for in a dramatic finish at
Locust Hill Country Club.
On Saturday, July 15, Stafford Country Club's
Jim Scorse captured his fifth RDGA District Championship, defeating
Jeff March of Irondequoit Country Club on the third hole of a sudden death playoff. For Scorse, the victory came on the same course where he won his first RDGA title in 2001...
