560 Wreaths Secured to Decorate Vets' Graves in Roxbury
Although the township's Kim Armstrong was getting a bit nervous, everything worked out perfectly, and 560 graves of veterans dating back to the Revolutionary War in Succasunna will be decorated with large  wreaths on December 17th.

Armstrong, a member of the  Ferro Monte Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), has organized the  "Wreaths Across America" event in the township for the past three years.

Last year, she said, the 560 goal was also met. That's the number of veteran's graves located in the cemeteries of the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna and the United Methodist Church of Succasunna, both located on Main Street.

On December 17th, volunteers will take the the wreaths and ceremonially place one on each grave.

Roxbury Begins Search for New Township Manager
The Township Council is about to take that first step in what Councilman Fred Hall says will be a long process to replace retiring Township Manager Chris Raths.

Raths, who lives in the township, has been manager for the past 16 years. He plans to retire on April 1.

That means, Hall said Wednesday, that the council really has to start the process of replacing him now.

"It's a long process. The first thing we are going to do is to hire an agency which will conduct a nationwide search. We already researched the major agencies who do this kind of thing, and we will pick one next week," Hall said, referrin g to the council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 13.

The presentation, given by lifetime Kenvil resident Russ Vanderbush, was part of the "Six Great Communities: One Amazing Township" series. Over the past few months, presentations have also been made at council meetings about  Succasunna and  Port Morris.

Accents on Dance Upcoming Programs

Hip Hop Dance After School

Hip Hop is an eclectic street style of dance that is performed in running shoes to current upbeat tempos. The dynamic moves taught in Hip Hop class are fast, stylish, funky and similar to those seen in music videos.

This class is appropriate for high energy dancers that are driven by a beat. Similar to a Jazz class, Hip Hop is broken down into 3 parts - warm up, corner work/technique and choreography. Students in a Hip Hop class will work on their strength, flexibility, and musicality through intricate fun and fast paced funky choreography.

Since the tempos are usually quicker than any other dance form, the choreography in a Hip Hop class provides a great cardio workout and is also a fun way to exercise the mind and memory.
