Gastro Health Acquires Hialeah Ambulatory Surgical Center 
Gastro Health has acquired the Gastrointestinal Center of Hialeah, a Joint Commission accredited, Florida-licensed ambulatory surgery center (ASC), that offers outpatient gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in a comfortable and convenient facility.

Located at 135 W. 49th Street in Hialeah, Florida, the ASC features three operative rooms outfitted with new, state-of-the-art equipment. Patients will be able to access services such as diagnostic and screening colonoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy, upper endoscopy, EGD with biopsy, colon with cautery and snare polypectomy and hemorrhoid ligation, all in a relaxing environment in which patient privacy and comfort are ensured.

Gastro Health's Hialeah ASC will utilize advanced technology and draw from the expertise of experienced gastroenterologists including Orlando Torres, MD, Roberto De J. Fernandez, MD, FACG, Sergio Rodriguez, MD, Carlos Ramos, MD, and Jose Lavergne, MD.

Governor Scott Announces Modernizing Medicine to Create More Than 800 Jobs in Palm Beach County

Governor Rick Scott recently announced that Modernizing Medicine plans to expand operations in the historic Boca Raton Innovation Center (BRIC) in Palm Beach County and will add a total of 838 jobs by 2022. Modernizing Medicine is a Florida based company that specializes in healthcare information technology. In addition to the more than 800 new jobs being created, Modernizing Medicine anticipates making a capital investment of more than $15 million in the Boca Raton community.

Governor Scott said, "I am proud that Modernizing Medicine will be expanding in Palm Beach County to create more than 800 new jobs which will provide even more families a great career. Companies like Modernizing Medicine are helping Florida become the best state in the nation for job creation while helping our unemployment rate continue to drop. Now, with the $85 million Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, we will ensure that even more job creators can grow and succeed in Florida."

Natalie Lamberton, MBA/HA, FACHE
is a distinguished healthcare executive who was honored as one of Legacy Magazine's Most Powerful and Influential Black Leaders for 2016. She has received numerous accolades including the American College of Healthcare Executives' Regent's Early Careerist and Distinguished Service Award in 2009 and 2013 respectively. Natalie joined ACHE during her pursuit of a healthcare administrative fellowship at Poudre Valley Health System and her membership has provided her with both an educational and networking platform.

Her membership has evolved over the years and for the past 8 years, she has taught "The Next Generation of Leaders: Lessons from the First 10 Years" at the ACHE annual Congress. She extended her ACHE membership to South Florida's local chapter, SFHEF when she accepted her current position as Chief Operating Officer at Jackson North Medical Center. She has reaped the benefits of networking as she has secured and excelled at senior executive roles throughout her healthcare career.
