Volunteer Project THIS Summer: Work It, IFMA!

Together, IFMA San Diego members are teaming up to support San Diego Youth Services by painting at one of their care facilities. No experience necessary, just a positive attitude and helping hands!

Expo Sub-Committee Chair Needed
Are you organized, detailed and like to collaborate with others?  Do we have the job for you!  Our BOMA/IFMA Expo Committee is looking for someone to chair the  Event Announcements  sub-committee.  
 
In this role you will work other subcommittees to identify what needs to be announced at the event, when, and by whom.  Oh, the POWER you will wield!  AND you'll have influence on the EXPO planning by attending meetings and working with the other committee members.

Congratulations to IFMA San Diego Scholarship Winner
The board of the San Diego Chapter of IFMA was pleased again this year to be able to award a $10,000 scholarship (through the IFMA Foundation). This year's recipient is Ms. Amy Cho. 
 
Amy is completing her Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Building Science Technology at South Seattle College. Amy impressed the selection committee with her student accomplishments and outstanding grade point average, earned while simultaneously working at Honeywell, attending school, and caring for her toddler son. 
 
Amy received the South Seattle College Foundation Outstanding Student Award and the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Student Award in 2016. Last year she also became a Certified Energy Manager. Amy will be coming to a San Diego Chapter meeting soon to meet our members in person. Until then, she sent the following letter to the board to share with our membership:

June's IFMA San Diego Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success on many levels. On behalf of the IFMA Community Service Committee and Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego: Thank you for your support of our online silent auction and raffle!
 
Together we raised $12,523.40 - surpassing our fundraised amount from 2016!
 
Brittani Montenegro, the Corporate and Community Philanthropy Coordinator at the Ronald McDonald House of San Diego said, "This is amazing, and we truly appreciate all of you and your support so very much!"
